About Kappa Alpha Psi
Kappa Alpha Psi, a college Fraternity, now comprised of functioning Undergraduate and Alumni Chapters on major campuses and in cities throughout the country, is the crystallization of a dream. It is the beautiful realization of a vision shared commonly by 10 founders (Elder Watson Diggs, John Milton Lee, Byron K. Armstrong, Guy Levis Grant, Ezra D. Alexander, Henry T. Asher, Marcus P. Blakemore, Edward G. Irvin, Paul W. Cain, and George W. Edmonds) that enabled them in the school year 1910 – 11, more specifically the night of January 5, 1911, on the campus of Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana, to sow the seed of a fraternal tree whose fruit is available to, and now enjoyed by, college men everywhere, regardless of their color, religion, or national origin.
About Our Chapter
The Kansas City Alumni Chapter was chartered on March 23, 1923, by twenty-five men of Achievement. Dr. Bryon K. Armstrong, one of the noble founders of this great clan, served as the 8th Polemarch of the chapter. With a theme of “Giving Back” Kansas City Alumni has a strong presence in the community.
Some of our signature events are the Easter Egg Hunt (Saturday before Easter), Scholarship Reception (July-August), Summer White Affair (August), Back-to-School (August and January), Thanksgiving Baskets (November), and Christmas Baskets (December).
